Packing Tips for Rann Utsav

You should pack comfortable clothing, both light for daytime and warm for nighttime, sturdy shoes, personal medications, sunscreen, sunglasses, a hat or scarf, a camera, and a power bank.

For elderly visitors, it's advisable to pack extra medications, a light blanket or shawl for sudden temperature drops, comfortable footwear, and perhaps a walking stick if they need assistance with mobility.

For toddlers and young children, pack essentials like baby food, diapers, a baby carrier or stroller, extra clothing, and toys or books to keep them engaged. Also, consider bringing a hat and sunscreen to protect their sensitive skin. We provide milk to them if required.

Layering is key. Pack thermal innerwear, sweaters, jackets, and perhaps even a cap or beanie. Warm socks and gloves might also be a good idea, especially if you plan to be out late in the evening.

Sturdy, comfortable shoes or sandals are ideal.

Carry extra batteries or a power bank, as the cold can drain battery life faster. Lens protectors or covers can help protect against the fine desert sand. A tripod can be useful for night photography, especially with the beautiful moonlit desert.

Considering the dry desert air, moisturising lotion, lip balm, and hydrating face mists can be beneficial. Also, a basic first-aid kit with band-aids, antiseptic wipes, and pain relievers should come in handy.

Yes, if you have known allergies, especially to dust, it's advisable to carry antihistamines or any prescribed medications. Also, a face mask can help in case of strong winds carrying desert sand.

The white salt desert can be highly reflective, amplifying the sun's rays. Polarised sunglasses can help reduce glare during the daytime.
